Dean and Professor, College of Design, Construction and Planning at University of Florida. Worked in industry on a wide range of building and civil infrastructure projects, becoming a Chartered/Professional Engineer in 1993. Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, FREng (the United Kingdom’s National Academy of Engineering). Holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK; a higher doctorate – D.Sc. (Doctor of Science) - from Loughborough University, UK; and an Honorary Doctorate (Dr.h.c.) from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.
